A valid species reletively recently fully recognized which to us seems to be the hybrid between local populations of Centaurea orientalis and Centaurea stereophylla.Plants cultivated in a garden from Floresti, Cluj county (June 2004) obtained from seeds collected near the southern edge of Babadag forest, Tulcea county in August 2001.
